As we say here in Sweden, when we do some really major grown up thing. Like going on couple dinner parties. Like getting married. Like buying a house.Wow, I really can’t believe it yet. I guess it’s first setting in when we spend our first night at the house. I really wanna thank you all for squeezing your thumbs so hard that we actually got it! You are the greatest! Holy shit!
On Utes request: here a few more pics from the inside as it is now.

We wanna make some changes like make 1 bedroom out of 2 where the balcony is (master bedroom), because the little room is really so small and will therefore become a walk-in closet. The walk in closet that is now, will be made one room with the bathroom so that we get space for one of those corner tubs. And then we dream about a wintergarden (later project) and a fireplace for those cold Swedish winters. Lot’s of dreams, lot’s of big bucks. But honestly I think our timing was as good as it can be in these times. Since people expect the interest to go up more and more they become more reluctant to buy houses for too much money. Houses similar to this in similar neighborhoods were more than 300 000 Euros this spring with lot’s of hysterical bidders making the price go up an additional 15 % more. This one was now out for 268 000 Euros and the bidding ended at 282 000.
So the next step after the house checking guy hopefully didn’t find any damages will be to contact a real estate firm to get our apartment sold. The moving into the new house can be as early as November 1. But we want some overlap to polish the floors and repaint our apartment before it’s getting sold.
Lot’s of work coming up, but it’s also so exciting! I’m so looking forward to
- having a garden – we will have rhubarb, blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries, grillparties
- having more space for guests to sleep over or come over for dinners
- having peace and quiet (hopefully no noisy neighbors)
- being able to open the windows without hearing all that car noise
- not having to book washing times at the common laundry anymore
- having our own garage
- having a dishwasher
- having space for our first very own christmas tree
The list can be made endlessly longer. Yup, Jörgen got one nice birthdaypresent.
