IT’S GETTING BETTER

After a really crazy month at work things are finally calming down at the moment, now that is really appreciated here! I couldn’t have possibly continued like that for much longer!
So what has happened here lately? Quite a lot actually for a change, let’s see…Last Friday we went to Piotr’s 40th birthday party and really had a great time. Loads of people, yummy food and drinks and a band, what more do you need? It’s just kind of really weird to realize that people are turning 40 in our circle of friends now…

On Saturday we took it pretty easy, cooked some nice meals and sat on the patio all day enjoying the wonderful weather. Emptied quite some wine during the lazy hours, too  On Sunday morning we drove down to Carl so that he could show us everything we need to know when we will be babysitting their cats next weekend. I have never had or babysat cats before, but I’m quite confident that we’ll manage.

Around lunch the 3 of us headed to the Aeroseum where we met up with some more people to attend a guided tour. The Aeroseum is basically an exhibition of Swedish mostly military aircraft located in an underground hangar. During the cold war Sweden built a lot of these underground military facilities and it was really interesting to visit one of them now. Part of the west coast in this country is hollowed out like a Swiss cheese and I remember not having been allowed to enter certain areas and islands as a foreigner when I first came here to study in 1998. Another cool thing was that we could actually sit in the cockpit of some aircraft, pity I had grabbed our camera without checking if it was charged. So typically me. Would have been nice to take some better photos than the ones with the phone. Later on we invited Carl over for some beers and a bit of BBQ ing which was really nice. Good times

Yesterday Jörgen and I first went out to our favorite Sushi-place and then we went to see the movie “La vie en rose“. It’s a very sad movie that shows Edith Piaf’s life with all it’s tragedy. I was very moved by it. And then there was the music of course, I do love Edith Piaf’s music.

Alright, it’s way past midnight and I shall go to bed now. Luckily we have a bank holiday tomorrow so we can sleep in. Otherwise the plan is to prepare our party a bit, get the shopping lists together etc…
Nighty night!
