It’s Gustaf Adolf’s Day in Sweden today and I learned about it when our boss treated us to Gustaf Adolf’s pastries for coffee. Gustaf Adolf is the Swedish king that founded the city of Gothenburg in 1621 and on November 6 th we are celebrating his death by eating a pastry commonly known as Napoleon pastry but today decorated with the king’s portrait in chocolate and hence called Gustaf Adolf’s pastry. Any questions?
Well, I guess the bakers craft is inventing lots of ‘holidays’ to increase sales, as we just had the opportunity to celebrate the cinnemon bun day on October 4th ![]()
What else is going on? I’ve been pretty sick with the flu for at least a week now. Been sleeping basically through the whole weekend and am now feeling ok again, but my forehead is still really hurting. I’ve been a tad scared that my eye could get infected as well, but I hope *knock on wood* it’s ok.
Fall is soon turning into winter here up North and the workload in the office is just not getting any smaller. Therefore the trip to Budapest will unfortunately not be feasable, as you really want to have more than 1 day in that city. I checked out different direct flight possibilities from Gothenburg and then my mind got hooked on Tallinn, as it is a smaller town with a pretty medieval center that can be explored in just 1,5 days. I checked the fares and of course they have to be really high during the Adventtime
. I found a cute little Spa hotel in the middle of the city that offers a great autumn package, and we are now debating about going in two weeks from now already; will have to check tomorrow if it will work out that way. I think it would be really fun to see Tallinn, if nothing else it would be the furthest East I’ve ever been!
It’s also time to book our trip to Germany for Christmas, gonna get that done tomorrow as well! We will be going for 9 days since we want to spend New Years Eve in Gothenburg this year! Julie is going to host a party and that should be a lot of fun!
Oh man, Christmas is just 6 weeks away, where did all the time go? But actually it’s good because I really miss my family and can’t wait to see them soon!
