HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Can it really already be the end of November? Where did all the time go? But a look at the calender tells me that it’s Turkey Day today and I wish all of you that celebrate this holiday a great time with your loved ones and not too much food coma after all the deliciousness. In Sweden we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but our American friends have invited us to their Thanksgiving feast, which will be held this Saturday because today is a work day. I’m really looking forward to experiencing this Thanksgiving with them, I think we will have a great time! And on Sunday it’s already the first Advent. I can’t wait to decorate the house even though we won’t have a Christmas tree this year because we won’t be here over the actual holidays. Also on Sunday we are invited at Jens and Ivonne’s for coffee and home-baked Stollen, Jens and Ivonne’s house somehow always offers a taste of home ;-) It will also be good to see the kids again before we will babysit them all by ourselves on December 12 th. The last time I did that was in 1997 as summer au pair in Spain! So this is very exciting – J and me babysitting together ;-) On the same weekend is also Julies Christmas party. Does anyone have an idea for 2 funny unisex presents that shouldn’t cost much more than 5 bucks each? We’ll need that for the “Wichtel”-game.

What else does end November mark? In Sweden? I’m sure I have been writing about it before, but I will do it again: Late fall and winter are a friggin dark time around here. I have such problems getting up every morning, it’s not funny anymore. But I stumbled over this product and hopefully I have been a good girl all year so that Santa will bring it for Christmas! And hopefully it will hold it’s promises, because my expectations are high!

Which brings me to another thing I want to write about: 3 more weeks and we will be driving home for Christmas! I can’t wait, because there are so many things that I’m looking forward to! First up our stop in Hamburg from Saturday until Monday. I haven’t seen Katharina and Sabine in ages and I’m sure we’ll have a great time! Shortly thereafter: Christmas with the family! Always great and this year hopefully also eventless stomachflue wise for Jörgen. After that we have invited aunts and uncles for a little get together because they weren’t with us for the wedding. I’m really looking forward to seeing them all! Well, and shortly after New Years there is another wedding that I’m looking forward to immensely! It’s gonna be so awesome to meet the bride and groom and a whole lot more people I have wanted to meet for so long – in short I  think it’s gonna be amazing!
So: 2,5 weeks of vacation really soon – not bad ay? A lot to look forward to!

The weeks since our return from Berlin have on the other hand passed quite calmly. I have been keeping up with my running within the Couch 25K running program and successfully completed week 5! I can only recommend this program to every couchpotatoe that wants to become fitter. Never during the first training days would I have thought that I would be able to run 20 minutes without a break, or at least not without feeling really bad! But the interval training that slowly prepares you for it works superbly, and if it does for me it does for anyone.

Otherwise there have been a lot of work during the weeks and calm and cozy weekends. We had another one of our restaurant nights and a cozy afternoon with friends at Huameis before the baby arrives next month. OMG this is so exciting! And we started our Christmas shopping because the presents for J’s side of the family have to be ready next weekend when we are going to visit them. The weather has been frosty and we also got our first snow…everything to get into the right mood for the season!

Gunnebo revisited by you.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!
