MOVIES AND MORE

Our last weekend was really wonderful. Lots of movies, shopping, an awesome party and a great dinner with Fumi. Friday night we watched I.O.U.S.A., a documentary on the fiscal crises of the US and not only them I’m afraid. There was nothing really new being said in this film but seeing everything put together was way scary! It’s not very biased information so I can really recommend yall to go see it. Saturday morning was spent on our new home improvement project: the guestroom. We ordered a sleep couch, bought paint and shopped around for parquet floor as well as wall paper. While we were at it we also looked at some new shower wall solutions but I think we can wait with this a little longer. In the evening we went to Susis house warming party. What a fun night we had. The food was marvellous.  Susis first Smörgåstårta ever became the first one I really liked. Usually I’m not a big fan of mayo and other gooey fillings but this one with tuna, shrimps and smoked salmon was super yummy. Compliment to the chef! We also had great brownies and home made pannacotta…everything was very good. So we had a great party until 3 am. On Sunday we slept in and then continued with more shopping around for the remodelling project. I think we decided now for a light coloured maple parquet. After shopping we met up with Fumi in a new Indian restaurant called “Indiska hörnet” which instantly made it to the top of my list! So so yummy! Afterwards we watched the Belgian movie “Moscow, Belgium”. Also this one was a great success. It balanced gloominess, if not blackness with so much humour, I loved the film. It also helped to meet the director afterwards, what a great guy. Yesterday we watched the animated movie “Idiots and Angels” by Bill Plympton. Not so much my kind of film, but again the presence of the artist gave me a different perspective and made me actually enjoy the story a lot. I just found it a bit looong. So and now we are already done with Tuesday, 3 days to go until the next weekend during which we will finally start with the new guest room hands on. On Saturday evening we are having a dinner with Julie, Dan, Trenda and Jim planned in and on Sunday the last festival movie “Göteborgsepoker”. Its a cut together film from archive clips about the history of our city that is shown with different content at every festival. So I know I’m going to like it!
Other than that we are planning on a little skiing trip to Norway in the beginning of March…something to count down to again!
